This former C&O trestle has been derelict for decades. The rails have been cut on both ends, completely isolating it. As you can see, it is a combination of pile and timber bents and time has taken its toll. It’s a good study in details that are seldom modeled like the metal bracing connecting the bent caps to the stringers. You’ll also notice the abundance of bolts connecting everything along with how newer wood has been spliced in here and there where the original timbers have rotted.
